Our Story

More Than a Bar. A Petersburg Institution.

46 E Center St, Petersburg, MI — the address that's been feeding and gathering Monroe County for over two decades.

The Beginning

Rooted in Community.

Walnut Bar & Grill started the way the best places always do — someone in Petersburg needed a spot where neighbors could gather, share a meal, and feel at home. Operated by Labert Enterprises LLC, the bar and grill has grown from a simple neighborhood watering hole into the social heart of Monroe County's southern communities.

We're located right on East Center Street — the literal center of town — and that's not a coincidence. This place was built to be the center of things: the spot you come to after the game, before the game, on your birthday, on a random Tuesday for tacos, and for your kid's graduation party.

Our kitchen runs on old family recipes and fresh Michigan ingredients. Our bar pours cold Michigan craft beers alongside the classics. Our staff shows up every day because they love this place as much as you do.

Owner & General Manager

Born and raised in Monroe County. Mike opened Walnut with one goal: give Petersburg a place worth being proud of.

Head Chef

Sandra has been in professional kitchens for 18 years. Her scratch sauces and old-family recipes are the backbone of our menu.
